……………………………………………………………..

David worked tirelessly, in health and during his battle with cancer, to promote the sliding track at the Utah Olympic Park as a facility where sliding enthusiasts and serious competitors alike could feed their passion for the sliding sports. He had requested before his death that donations be taken in his name to fulfill the purpose and mission stated above, and specifically to purchase equipment so the track and the sliding sports could continue to grow.

The David Dinger Developmental Sliding Foundation, the David Dinger Foundation for short, was formed shortly after David’s death as a 501(c)(3) non-profit company. The Foundation’s purpose is to encourage and promote the winter sliding sports of bobsled, skeleton and luge at the Utah Olympic Park in Park City, Utah through education, outreach and equipment.

We appreciate your donations as we now work to fulfill one of David’s most important life missions.

FAQ:

What is the David Dinger Developmental Sliding Foundation?
Founded the day after David’s death, the David Dinger Developmental Sliding Foundation (the “Foundation” or “DDDSF”) was formed by friends, family and with support from the good people who worked with and loved David at the Utah Olympic Park. David’s love of the sliding sports of bobsled, luge and skeleton and his home track at the Utah Olympic Park in Park City, Utah was apparent to anyone who was lucky enough to know him. Several friends from different parts of David’s life came together to create this Foundation so we could help provide support to those people and passions David supported in his life.

Feel free to contact us with any questions.

Are donations tax deductible?
Yes, subject of course to IRS approval of the Foundation’s tax-exempt status as with all non-profits. You will receive a receipt for your donation and confirmation of IRS tax-exempt status once confirmed, which you can provide to your tax preparer or accountant to document your contribution and tax deduction. All contributions are fully refundable until confirmation of non-profit status, which usually takes 4 months.

What is the organizational structure of the Foundation?
The Foundation is formed on a directorship basis. Initial board members from the following constituents are being sought: David’s family, David’s friends, the Utah Olympic Park in Park City and Winter Olympic athletes from the sports of luge, bobsled and/or skeleton. All organizational documents and board members will be listed here as the organizational structure as they become available. The initial founders filing the incorporation documents and in charge of creating the initial structure for the organization are as follows: Ladd Richland, David’s brother-in-law who cared for David during the 10 months of his treatment. Ladd is also the executor of David’s last will and testament. Enrico Schaefer is one of David’s close friends from college who loved and supported David through the years, most especially during the year of his fight against cancer. Enrico also happens to be an attorney specializing in internet law, with the initial resources and know-how on setting up this non-profit as well as the web services necessary to meeting the Foundation’s purpose. Initial Board Members are being asked to join the cause. Please feel free to email any suggestions for Board members, Committee members or any other thoughts by sending an email to daviddingerfoundation@gmail.com.

Will the Foundation be transparent?
Absolutely. This organization will be run in an open, transparent way. All decisions will be guided by a single question: ‘What would David Dinger do?’ The Foundation will post its activities, donations and expenses, in detail, on this web site. Administrative expenses are currently expected to be below 5%, staffed by volunteers and supported by the efforts of good people donating their time and energy.
